The main PediatricCare clinic is located in central Topeka off of
S.W. Gage at 15th St. There pediatricians care for kids ranging in age from birth to age 18. The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some physicians may be able to see your child on the same day but it is recommended that you have an appointment.
This clinic participates in the federally funded Vaccines for Children (VFC) program, which is available to uninsured children. Click here for more information about the VFC program.

Five Good Reasons to Vaccinate Your Child
You want to do what is best for your children. You may have learned about car seats, baby gates and other ways to keep your baby safe. However, one of the most important ways to protect your child involves making sure they get all their vaccinations as a child. In fact, there are five good reasons why you should make time for the recommended immunizations.
- Immunizations can save your child’s life. Some diseases, for example polio, which once handicapped or killed thousands of children have been eliminated completely, while others are close to extinction – primarily due to safe and effective vaccines.
- Vaccination is very safe and effective. Vaccines are typically developed and researched for years by scientists, physicians, and health care professionals prior to being available in your pediatrician’s office. The preventive measures they provide far outweigh the risk of not being vaccinated at all.
- Getting immunized protects others you care about. Children in the U.S. still get vaccine-preventable diseases. For example, diagnosed cases of whooping cough (pertussis) have risen over the past few years due to inappropriate vaccination of children. Making sure your child is appropriately vaccinated keeps him or her safe. It not only protects your family, but also helps prevent the spread of disease to your friends and their family.
- Immunizations can save your family time and money. When your child is not vaccinated properly, they may become sick and may be denied access to schools or daycare facilities. Time away from work and medical bills can create a financial burden. So getting the proper immunizations for your child can save time and money. - Immunization protects future generations. Vaccines have reduced, and in some cases, eliminated many disease that killed or disabled children just a few generations ago. Diseases like smallpox have been completely removed from our society because of proper vaccination for the disease. Continued vaccination may do away with other diseases like measles in the future, if continued immunization against the disease continues today.

The Vaccines for Children Program (VFC)
The VFC program is a federally funded program that provides vaccines at no cost to children who might not otherwise be vaccinated because of inability to pay. PediatricCare partners with the Kansas Department of Health to make this program available to underinsured PediatricCare patients.
