The Birthplace at Stormont-Vail features labor/delivery/recovery suites and brand new post-partum suites for family-oriented, patient-focused care. Designed for comfort and safety, the suites contain all the equipment necessary to provide for a safe birth experience, while at the same time offering families a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere in which to share this exciting time. A beautiful nursery is available for the best care possible for your new family member.

When the decision is made to deliver at Stormont-Vail, the patient’s physician will give her a “Gift of Motherhood eBook” QR code/website information card. The eBook provides information on admission and classes, prenatal care, labor and birth, postpartum care, infant feeding and health and safety. Hard copy books are available in Spanish and English for those without internet access.

To prepare expectant parents, Stormont-Vail offers a full range of family-centered programs in prenatal, sibling and infant care. The Birthplace does not stop caring for families once they are dismissed from the hospital. The Birthplace offers a postpartum visit for the mother and baby by the clinical staff. The Breastfeeding/Follow Up Clinic serves as an excellent support system for mothers breastfeeding or bottle feeding their babies. The clinic is available 10 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
