Endowment Funds

Children's Endowment Fund
The Children's Endowment Fund supports important services and programs listed below that are dedicated to the children at Stormont-Vail HealthCare.

  • Level III, 27-bed Neonatal IntensiveCare department serving all of northeast Kansas
  • The Birthplace, where more than 2,200 babies are born every year
  • The Breastfeeding Clinic, a no- or low-cost clinic for new mothers seeking breastfeeding services
  • 20-bed Pediatric/Adolescent Department
  • Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner/Sexual Assault Response Team Program (SANE/SART), which treats an average of 50 children every year
  • Child and Adolescent Behavioral Medicine Program at Stormont-Vail West

This program is supported in part by the annual BIG HEARTS for little hearts golf tournament hosted by the Foundation.

Health Sciences Library
Stormont-Vail HealthCare is home to the only comprehensive health library in the region. Gifts to the Health Sciences Library are used to maintain current periodicals and publications for specialties as well as making the latest in online learning and research available.

Endowment for Excellence
The Endowment for Excellence generates earnings to provide funding for technology needs for Stormont-Vail HealthCare.

Learning for Life
Learning for Life is a comprehensive endowment fund that focuses on health promotion, disease and injury prevention, community health education and health care education. The Learning for Life endowment supports:

  • Health Sciences Library
  • Scholarships for Nursing and Allied Health Students
  • Family Life: Prenatal, Child Development and Parenting Classes
  • HealthWise 55
  • Outreach Programs

Unrestricted Endowment
Gifts to the Unrestricted Endowment provide the Foundation the flexibility to direct funding to areas of greatest need. Programs with a limited time frame or in need of start-up funding often benefit from gifts to the Unrestricted Endowment fund.

Stormont-Vail HealthCare Auxiliary
The Stormont-Vail Auxiliary is an important partner in funding areas of need through the Foundation. Thanks to programs sponsored by the Auxiliary such as the Food Connection, Gift Shop and book sales, more than $1 million has been donated to the Foundation.
