Matthew H. Herynk, Ph.D., Joins Cotton-O’Neil Cancer Center

Matthew H. Herynk, Ph.D., has joined the Cotton-O’Neil Cancer Center as oncology research and program development manager. Herynk, a native Topekan, will build on the foundation of clinical research trials offered at the cancer center to bring the most advanced trials to the region.

Herynk has a Ph.D. in cancer biology from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the University of Texas-M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, where he also received a master’s degree in cell biology. He has bachelor’s degrees in biology and microbiology from Kansas State University.

Herynk has been involved in cancer research and is published in numerous medical journals and books. He also wrote the book Mastering the Skills of Live Presentations. He is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research and American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Cotton-O’Neil Cancer Center, which is a specialty medical clinic in the Stormont-Vail HealthCare family, is known for providing clinical research trials for more than 30 years to improve the lives of those with a diagnosis of cancer.
