(Topeka, Jan. 13, 2011) – MRI Center of Kansas, a convenient, high-quality magnetic resonance imaging center that was the first MRI system in the state of Kansas, is now a part of the Stormont-Vail HealthCare family. The change in ownership of the facility at 731 S.W. Mulvane was effective Dec. 20, 2010.
MRI Center of Kansas, which has been in Topeka since 1986, offers MRI services in a freestanding facility, with convenient, close-up parking. The center also offers:

- Topeka's only high field MRI accredited by the American College of Radiology.
- Participating provider for most major health insurance plans
- Same day appointments usually available.
MRI is short for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. MRI looks at the interactions between a magnetic field and the different types of atoms in a personÕs body. It produces detailed images of various structures, many of which cannot be seen well with X-rays. MRI is particularly useful for evaluation of soft tissues.
