(Topeka, Kan., Dec. 21, 2010) – Stormont-Vail HealthCare and Cotton-O’Neil Clinic welcome the addition of Vlad Dimitriu, M.D., to the pulmonology specialty services at Cotton-O’Neil Clinic. Dr. Dimitriu joins fellow pulmonologists Shawn Magee, M.D., Osman Malik, M.D., Theo Ogungbamigbe, M.D., and Ali Kanchwala, M.D. at 823 S.W. Mulvane in Topeka. He is currently accepting new patients by physician referral.
Dr. Dimitriu received his medical degree at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania, in 1996. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Nassau University Medical Center, Long Island, N.Y., in 2004. He then completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Nebraska University Medical Center, Omaha, Neb., 2007.
As a pulmonologist, Dr. Dimitriu diagnoses and manages all disorders of the lung and pulmonary circulatory system including acute and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchitis, dyspnea, emphysema, interstitial lung disease, and pneumonia and practices critical care medicine. He is also a member of the Stormont-Vail Intensivist Program and makes
rounds in the Intensive Care Unit daily to care for hospitalized patients with critical respiratory illnesses.
