Medical Arts Clinic – Emporia Increases Obstetric and Gynecology Services

(Topeka, Kan., July 30, 2008) – Medical Arts Clinic – Emporia, a division of Stormont-Vail HealthCare in Topeka, in cooperation with Newman Regional Health, has successfully recruited two additional obstetrics and gynecology specialists to Medical Arts Clinic – Emporia. Christina Faulkner, M.D., and Trish Miller-Wood, D.O., begin seeing patients on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Medical Arts Clinic,
1301 W. 12th Ave., Emporia.

Christina Faulkner, M.D.

Dr. Faulkner, a native of the Emporia area, received her medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, Kan., in 2004. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Mo., in 2008. Dr. Faulkner attended Northern Heights High School and was the valedictorian of her class.

Trish Miller-Wood, D.O.

Dr. Wood, also a native of Emporia, received her doctor of osteopathy degree at Des Moines University, Des Moines, Iowa, in 2004. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Mo., in 2008. Dr. Wood graduated from Emporia State University and worked as a nurse at health facilities in the area, including Newman Regional Health.

Drs. Faulkner and Wood have both passed their board examinations and are active candidates for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
