25th annual Stormont-Vail HealthCare’s Healthy Woman Series
“Life is What Happens to You While You’re Making Other Plans ” Topic of Presentation

(Topeka, Kan., Oct. 21, 2008) – To celebrate the 21st anniversary of the Jane C. Stormont Women’s Center, Suzie Humphreys will be the featured speaker at Stormont-Vail HealthCare’s 25th annual Healthy Woman Series, Thursday, Oct. 23, at Pozez Education Center, 1505 S.W. Eighth Ave. in Topeka.

“Life is What Happens to You While You’re Making Other Plans” will be Humphreys’ topic. Humphreys is a professional motivational speaker and humorist from Dallas, Texas. She will speak at
3 p.m. and repeat the program at 7 p.m. Tickets for both performances are all distributed.

Humphreys will share with audience members how her experiences from a career that led from administrative secretary to television talk show host to 20 years in radio helped her with material to write the book, “If All Else Fails . . . Laugh.”

The reason men and women relate to Humphreys is because she is truthful about her failures and her arguments with her husband and how she wrestles with her hilarious, but “painful” relationship with her 95-year-old mother. These stories prove her point that, regardless of what the situation or the problem, it is not the “problem that is the problem” it is “my thinking about the problem.”

The Healthy Woman Series is sponsored by Stormont-Vail HealthCare, ERC/Resource & Referral and Stormont-Vail Foundation.
