Stormont-Vail opens “Team Focus” Total Joint Replacement Center

(Topeka, Kan., Nov. 29, 2005) – Stormont-Vail will host a public open house of its new Total Joint Center from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1. The Total Joint Center is located on the  third floor, south tower of Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center. During the open house, visitors will enjoy a tour, have a snack and meet the expert staff, including nursing staff, physical therapy staff and occupational therapy staff. 

The Stormont-Vail Total Joint Center will open to total knee and total hip replacement patients Monday, Dec. 5. The center will provide the latest in joint replacement in a facility dedicated solely to these procedures. The program is comprehensive including patient education programs to help patients understand what to expect, giving them the power to heal better and faster; a dedicated team approach and use of the latest procedures and technology like the computerized Ci System for guidance while performing the latest, minimally invasive surgical procedures, that all combine to enhance patient outcomes.

Michael McCoy, M.D., Midwest Sports Medicine, and Joseph Mumford, M.D., Kansas Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, are co-directors of the Stormont-Vail Total Joint Center.
