KU Med Pediatrician Joins Pediatric Hospitalist Program at Stormont-Vail HealthCare

(Topeka, Kan., Dec. 7, 2007) – Stormont-Vail HealthCare announces the addition of Kirsten Evans, M.D., to the Pediatric Hospitalist Program. Dr. Evans joins fellow hospital-based pediatric physicians, Steven Crouch, M.D., medical director, Mike Cotter, M.D., Tanya Pitts, M.D. and Dan Reynolds, D.O.

Dr. Evans received her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, in 1995. She completed an internship followed by a residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, in 1996 and 1999 respectively. Dr. Evans is board certified in pediatrics.

Most recently, Dr. Evans has been a faculty member, in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center. During her pediatric career, Dr. Evans also previously practiced at Pediatric Associates of Topeka, PA.

The goal of the pediatric hospitalist is to provide the highest quality inpatient pediatric care, while keeping the pediatric patient close to home, family and friends. A few benefits of having a pediatric hospitalist care for your child include:

  • Quick response to changes in a child’s condition as they occur throughout the hospital stay.
  • Enhanced communication between patient, family and primary care physicians concerning the hospitalization.
  • Ease of coordination for the management of inpatient care, which can often involve several medical specialists.
