(Topeka, Kan., Nov. 29, 2011) – Joel Martin, M.D., has joined the adult hospitalist program at Stormont-Vail HealthCare. There are now fifteen hospitalists to manage the care of sick or injured adult patients hospitalized at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center.
Dr. Martin obtained his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, in 1994. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Va., in 1997. He is board certified in internal medicine.
Dr. Martin has been in practice for more than 17 years and has most recently been in practice at The Doctor's Clinic, in Bremerton, Wash. He also spent three years as a faculty member at Temple University School of Medicine, West Penn Campus, Philadelphia, from 2006 through 2009. He began his career as an active duty Navy Staff Internist, Newport, R.I., in 2000.
