HealthWise 55 plans week of celebration activities to highlight Older Americans Month

(Topeka, Kan., May 2, 2008) – Stormont-Vail HealthCare’s HealthWise 55 is celebrating Older Americans Month by planning activities the first week of May. Celebration events planned for older adults include an ice cream social and birthday party, a tour of the Ward-Meade Home and bingo. The events are open to anyone in the community. Sunday, May 4: Ice cream social
It’s a party. Join us for ice cream and celebrate Stormont-Vail’s 125th Anniversary!
1:30 to 3 p.m. • 2 to 2:30 p.m. – Program by Vernon Long, Stormont Vail HealthCare
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Wilma Naethe, graduate of Stormont-Vail School of Nursing, featuring memories and show and tell history items. • Pozez Education Center, 1505 S.W. 8th Ave. • Free • For information, call (785) 354-6787.

Monday, May 5: Bingo at the Moose
Loyal Order of the Moose, 1901 North Kansas Ave. • 1:30 to 3 p.m. • Free • Refreshments available. Prizes will be awarded. No reservations are needed.

Wednesday May 7: Continental Breakfast at the Ward-Meade Home
Ward-Meade Historic Site, 124 N.W. Fillmore • 10 to 11:30 a.m. • Free • Tour Old Prairie Town at the historic site and enjoy a continental breakfast in the Ward-Meade Home. Parking available in the Ward-Meade parking lot one block north of First and Clay Streets. For information or to register for breakfast, call (785) 354-6787.
