(Topeka, Kan., July 7, 2011) -- Stormont-Vail HealthCare and Cotton-O'Neil Clinic proudly announce the addition of Patrick Raney, M.D., to the family medicine group of physicians located at 901 S.W. Garfield, in Topeka. Dr. Raney is currently accepting new patients.
Dr. Raney, most recently a member of the family medicine medical staff at Irwin Army Community Hospital, Fort Riley, Kan., received his medical degree from the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Md., in 1997.
He completed an internship followed by a residency in family medicine at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Ga., in 2004. He served as chief resident during his final year of residency and received the outstanding family medicine graduate award prior to the completion of his residency.
Dr. Raney is a board certified family medicine physician. He is a member of the Uniform Services Academy of Family Physicians and is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
For his military service, a few of the awards Dr. Raney received include: the Meritorious Service Medal, a Bronze Star Medal, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and an Expert Field Medical Badge. He served a one-year tour as an offsite medical response physician for battlefield care at the 249th General Hospital, Bagram, Afghanistan, in 2005.
