Cotton-O’Neil Cancer Center Offers
Free Skin Screening Clinic

(March 13, 2009) - The Cotton-O’Neil Cancer Center will offer a free skin screening clinic for the community. Cotton-O’Neil dermatologist Michael Giessel, M.D. and Judy Dowd, PA, and Topeka dermatologist Robert Durst, M.D., as well as dermatology residents from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, will be available to check suspicious moles and other spots for signs of cancer, and determine if further analysis is necessary.

Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers and accounts for half of all cancers in the United States. An estimated one in five people will get skin cancer during their lifetime.

The free skin screening clinic will be 8 a.m. to noon. Saturday, April 18, at the Cotton-O’Neil Cancer Center, 1414 S.W. 8th Ave., Topeka.
