Cotton-O'Neil Cancer Center Offers Free Skin Screening Clinic

(March 14, 2008) – The Cotton-O’Neil Cancer Center will offer a free skin screening clinic for the community. Cotton-O’Neil dermatologist Michael Giessel, M.D. and Judy Dowd, ARNP, and Topeka dermatologist Robert Durst, M.D., will be available to check suspicious moles and other spots for signs of cancer, and determine if further analysis is necessary.

Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers and accounts for half of all cancers in the United States. An estimated one in five people will get skin cancer during their lifetime.

The free skin screening clinic will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Cotton-O’Neil Cancer Center, 1414 S.W. 8th Ave., Topeka.
