Quality & Patient Safety

Hospital Quality Alliance Report
(Stormont-Vail Compared to Kansas Tertiary Providers)

Patient Safety Video

At Stormont-Vail HealthCare, our mission is Working Together to Improve the Health of our Community. Part of that mission is providing the highest possible quality and safety for our patients.  We constantly measure and evaluate our Quality and Patient Safety performance, and report these measurements to outside organizations such as The Joint Commission and Medicare (CMS). We are proud of our Quality and Patient Safety performance, and would like to share this same information with our own patients and their family members.

What is Quality and Patient Safety?

  1. The right tests performed in the right way.
  2. The right diagnosis.
  3. The right treatment performed in the right way.
  4. All at the right time.
  5. With the right personal service.

Presently 19 Quality and Patient Safety measures have been chosen for national focus. These 19 measures are divided into four important medical conditions:

In each area of our SVHC Quality and Patient Safety Report, you will see a brief description of the medical condition, followed by a description of the measure being looked at, followed by a graph that shows our performance in comparison with national rates reported by The Joint Commission.
