Maternal Fetal Medicine at Stormont-Vail HealthCare provides a variety of consultative services for the high-risk mother and fetus. The Perinatal Clinic is located in the health center and is accessed by referral from their attending physician who provides continued obstetric care for the mother.

These complications can include, but are not limited to pregnancy-induced hypertension, diabetes, pre-term labor, premature rupture of membranes, insufficient cervix, multiple pregnancy, and amniotic fluid disorders. Ultrasound and amniocentesis may be used in gathering information to assist in providing the most complete care possible. Maternal Fetal Medicine works closely with the neonatologists, Neonatal Intensive Care staff, Birthplace staff, genetic counselors, dietitians, educators, outcome coordinators and social workers at Stormont-Vail HealthCare.

In 2007, Maternal Fetal Medicine added two genetic counselors to its staff. Click here to learn more about this service.

We are committed to providing you with the highest quality and compassionate health care available for pregnant women and their unborn babies. Our mission statement is, “The application of science during pregnancy, with the art of caring.”
