Stormont-Vail HealthCare was the first in the region to install the 64 slice CT Scanner, “as seen on Oprah”, in May 2005. This system, the Sensation 64, continues to be the only 64 slice CT scanner in the region.

In 2006, we achieved another technology milestone, by installing the latest available MRI technology, the Siemens 1.5T Avanto, with the latest in cardiac and angiography capabilities.

MRI and CT have become some of the most important tools to diagnose medical diseases and illnesses. The technology is especially useful in emergency situations when faster diagnosis can be lifesaving.
