Who We’re Working With
Baker School of Nursing
The Baker University School of Nursing, Stormont Vail Hospital Campus, offers a Bachelor of Science in nursing program for basic and registered nurse students and a master’s degree in nursing. Both traditional and online programs are available. While course demands are rigorous, the goals of nursing education at Baker University are accomplished in a climate of collaboration and cooperation between faculty and students – a hallmark of the Baker experience with the benefit of an on-site health care environment.

Century Health Solutions
Century Health Solutions, Inc. (Century) was incorporated in November 1992 and began operations in April 1993. In 1998, Century became a subsidiary of Stormont Vail, Inc., an affiliate of Stormont Vail Health. Stormont Vail Health is the largest integrated health system in northeast Kansas and operates a tertiary acute care hospital in Topeka, Kansas. Today Century is a market leader providing insurance agency services and consulting for employee benefits and individual insurance plans.
The provider network includes hospitals and other medical facilities, physicians and specialists, and many other ancillary providers. All participating providers must meet stringent credentialing requirements, including initial and periodic reviews. A utilization management and quality assurance program monitors participating provider usage. The PPO is available for lease by insurance companies, employers, and other group health plans and organizations.

Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital
Stormont Vail Health partners with the staff of the Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital to provide patients treatment and support in the healing process. Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital, the first free-standing physical rehabilitation hospital in the state, provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services to patients who have had strokes, spinal cord injuries, multiple trauma, hip fractures or joint replacements, head injuries, amputations, work-related accidents, post-surgical recovery, and illness.
Among services Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital offers:
- The NeuroRecovery program designed to restore motor function to individuals who have paralysis, walking disorders, trouble swallowing, or brain dysfunction. Services include AutoAmbulator, Interactive Metronome, Vital Stim, Aquatic Therapy, Anodyne, and NRS. The NeuroRecovery program is designed for those diagnosed with stroke, spinal cord and brain injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy, Post-Polio, Muscular Dystrophies, Guillain-Barre, and neuropathies.
Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital is accredited through the Joint Commission in Stroke Rehabilitation, Parkinson’s Disease Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Rehabilitation.

Life Star of Kansas
Owned by Stormont Vail Health, Life Star of Kansas is a helicopter emergency transport service on call 24 hours a day basing from two locations: Lawrence and Junction City. Life Star provides hospital-to-hospital transfers as well as direct scene responses for critically ill or injured persons throughout northeast Kansas.
Started in 1988, Life Star of Kansas has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) since 1996.
