Behavioral Health Services at Stormont-Vail

We are committed to providing excellent, multi-tiered behavioral health services to patients of all ages in a comfortable and safe therapeutic setting. Inpatient services are available for children, adolescents, adults and seniors who are experiencing crisis situations or psychiatric emergencies.

We offer a variety of outpatient mental health services including therapy, medication management, a Partial Hospital Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for individuals and families who need psychiatric intervention.

Our psychiatrists, social workers, therapists and nursing staff work together to develop each patient’s plan of care. Also vital to our patient programs is the continuity of care with family members, referral sources and community resources.

The care team at Behavioral Health Services treats the “whole” person and recognizes that the relationships between patients and their families, friends, peers and the community are intrinsic components to healthy living.

Behavioral Health Services at Stormont-Vail operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Preceding an inpatient admission, an assessment is performed to determine the appropriate level of care for each patient and his or her specific needs.

For more information or to inquire about admission to one of our Inpatient, Partial Hospital, or Intensive Outpatient treatment programs please call (785) 270-4646.

Partial Hospital Program

This program offers intensive clinical services to adults, 18 years of age and older, in a structured, supportive day setting Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. PHP provides a level of care between acute inpatient evaluation/treatment and outpatient clinic visits. It provides a therapeutic environment for diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric illness and assists in the prevention of relapse and/or hospitalization. This intense, short-term program gives patients the skills to transition back to healthier functioning. During the program participation staff are available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for individual/family interventions and community agency follow up to ensure continuity of care; an on-site medical provider will assess and supervise medication management.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Providing a level of care between partial hospitalization and outpatient clinic visits, this program provides a transitional level of care that enables patients to remain in the community while gaining intensive, focused therapy.
