Explore Topeka and Northeast Kansas

Stormont Vail Health is now more than 130 years old, and our story continues to evolve as we’re growing to meet new demands and changing demographics.

Why Kansas?

For us, the answer is simple. First, we are a community that enjoys a quality of life rarely surpassed, with affordable living, a plethora of cultural opportunities, outdoor adventures and historical sites. There are vibrant towns, quality schools, fun festivals and celebrations held all through the year providing entertainment and leisure for the entire family.

For every chapter of your life, we have much to offer.

While your employment with Stormont Vail Health will bring you into our system’s own tightly knit and congenial community and culture, you’ll also enjoy personal interaction and close contact with the populations that we serve. You’ll find that your neighbors and peers are some of the friendliest, most hard-working people found anywhere. In fact, our mid-western “can-do spirit” is evident in the high level of volunteerism and community engagement.

Friendly Faces

Our state has many practical considerations that make life in our region the logical choice. The area’s cost of living can be at least 10 percent lower than the national av- erage, with housing prices that are approximately 40 percent lower than the national average. When looking at the quality of life, Topeka is on Gallup’s list of Top Small Com- munities, and was designated by Kiplinger Finance Magazine as one of the top 10 cities for the next decade.

Plentiful Recreation

Then, there’s our landscape. More than “flyover country,” we have big skies that take on magical qualities as the light shifts from sunrise to sunset, lush rolling hills, abundant grasslands, and fertile river valleys filled with wildlife and recreational options. You’ll also get to enjoy every season of the year.

Quality Schools

Our public and private educational institutions afford quality learning opportunities to students of all ages. There are multiple universities within 80 miles of the hospital. Washburn University, Baker University, Kansas State University, the University of Kansas and Emporia State University are within our region.
