Sports Injury Clinic Starts Sept. 7

Stormont Vail Health will be offering a Sports Injury Clinic to all area high school athletes.

A sports medicine physician and an athletic trainer will see athletes who may need immediate care for an injury sustained during a game, but didn’t need to visit the Emergency Department.

The clinic will be open from 8-10 a.m. every Saturday from Sept. 7 to Oct. 20 at Cotton O’Neil Kanza Park, 2660 S.W. Third St., in Topeka. No appointment is necessary.

Injuries appropriate for the clinic include:

  • Potential fractures
  • Torn ligaments including ACL
  • Dislocations
  • Ankle injuries

Clinic visits will be billed to student athlete’s insurance and a specialty office visit co-pay will be assessed.

The clinic is open to students in grades 9-12 for the 2019-20 school year.
