Meet the Stormont-Vail WorkCare Staff
Dale G. Garrett, M.D., M.P.H., the medical director of Stormont-Vail WorkCare, a program specializing in occupational and environmental medicine.
A native of Kansas and raised on a ranch in Osage County, Dr. Garrett earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Kansas. Dr. Garrett has worked in the field of occupational and environmental medicine since 1993.
Along with a two-year general surgery residency at the University of Kentucky with emphasis on orthopedics, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, trauma and neurosurgery, Dr. Garrett completed a mini-residency in occupational medicine at the University of Cincinnati. In 2001, Dr. Garrett returned to the University of Kentucky to complete a master’s degree in public health and a residency/fellowship in Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Dr. Garrett is a Certified Medical Review Officer.
David Couch, APRN-BC, has been in the occupational medicine field for many years. He is certified as a family nurse practitioner, has a BSN from Washburn University and an MSN from University of Missouri-Columbia.
Carolyn Kennedy, R.N., B.S.N., is the clinical manager at WorkCare. She has been a nurse since 1973 and has 18 years experience in occupational health and case management. She is certified in audiometrics and spirometry, and is a certified breath alcohol technician. She is certified by the federal government to do drug screen collections. She has instructed smoking cessation classes through the American Lung Association and has also taught First Aid and CPR classes through the Red Cross and is basic life support certified. Kennedy received her bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University and her R.N. at the Stormont-Vail School of Nursing.
