My name is Camille Adeimy. I’m a medical oncologist and hematologist. I’ve been working at Stormont Vail now for over three years. I don’t treat cancer, I treat patients with cancer and blood disorders, and I have found my spot here at Stormont because we have all the services that we can provide to our patients. And that has allowed me to provide the best care I can.
I would say that the vast majority of our patients who walk into the Cancer Center are scared and anxious about what to expect. Having had several family members with cancer, I understand where they’re coming from. And so, I can say that we have a very well-oiled machine that will help take care of all the aspects of their cancer care – mental and physical.
I feel like educating our patients empowers them along the whole journey, so we do that upfront before they even start any procedure or treatment, so that they know what they’re getting themselves into. The number one advice I would tell them is to put some faith and trust in us as an organization and as health care providers because I truly feel that we have the best of the best.
My favorite part of what I do, I would say, is the smile on a patient’s face when their pain is relieved, when their suffering is relieved, when they have positive outcomes from treatment.
