Dr. John Plowden, pediatric cardiologist at Children’s Mercy Kansas City, is a full-time provider at the Cotton O’Neil Heart Center. Dr. Plowden has more than 30 years of experience in pediatric cardiology and is board certified in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Plowden earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia, in 1984 and completed his residency in pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1987. He completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine, Cincinnati, Ohio, and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston. His interests include congenital heart disease, arrhythmias and preventative cardiology such as treatment for hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
