Cotton O’Neil Clinic Welcomes Additional Urologist

(Topeka, Kan., Aug. 29, 2012) - Stormont Vail HealthCare and Cotton O’Neil Clinic announce the addition of Kevin Nasseri, M.D., to the Cotton O’Neil Urology medical group. He joins fellow urologists Mark Brandsted, M.D., Chu-Chi Chen, M.D., and Richard Isaacson, M.D., in practice at 823 S.W. Mulvane St., Suite 275, in Topeka.
Prior to coming to Topeka, Dr. Nasseri was in practice at the Urology Center of the Rockies, P.C., in Fort Collins, Colo. He received his medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, in 1992. He then completed a residency in urology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City. He has practiced urology since 1997.
Dr. Nasseri is a member of the American Urological Association. His practice will be primarily focused on adult general urology with clinical interests in kidney stone disease, disorders of the prostate and urologic cancers.

Brian F. Wilson, M.D., Joins Michael T. McCoy, M.D, in Practice at Cotton O’Neil Orthopedic Surgery

(Topeka, Kan., Aug. 21, 2012) – Cotton O’Neil Clinic announces the addition of Brian F. Wilson, M.D. to the orthopedic surgery program. Dr. Wilson joins Michael T. McCoy, M.D., orthopaedic surgeon, at Cotton O’Neil Clinic – Orthopedic Surgery, 823 S.W. Mulvane St., Suite 370 in Topeka. He is now accepting new appointments at (785) 270-8880.
Dr. Wilson received his medical degree at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine in 2005. He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri– Kansas City, in 2011. He also completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Kentucky School of Medicine, Lexington, Ky., in 2012. His clinical interests include: orthopaedic sports medicine, arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery, athletic team coverage and education, and total joint replacement surgery.
Dr. Wilson is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, The Gold Humanism Medical Honor Society, the Metropolitan Medical Society of Greater Kansas City, and the American Medical Association.
Cotton O’Neil Diabetes & Endocrinology Center Adds Additional Endocrinologist

(Topeka, Kan., Aug. 17, 2012) - Stormont Vail HealthCare and Cotton O’Neil Clinic announce the addition of endocrinologist Francisco Correa, M.D., to the Cotton O’Neil Diabetes & Endocrinology Center, 3520 S.W. 6th Ave., Topeka. A native of Ecuador, Dr. Correa, who speaks Spanish fluently, has most recently been affiliated with Providence Community Health Centers in Providence, R.I.
Dr. Correa received his medical degree at Universidad Catolica Santiago de Guayaquil, Ecuador, in 1999. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, which is an academic health center affiliated with Yale School of Medicine, New Haven, Conn., in 2005. He went on to complete a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington, Conn., in 2007.
He taught as a professor of medicine at Brown University from 2008 to the time of his relocation to the Midwest. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, The Endocrine Society, and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. His clinical interests include: diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, thyroid disorders, and endocrine and metabolism disorders.

Additional Emergency Physician Joins Stormont Vail Emergency Department

(Topeka, Kan., Aug. 14, 2012) -- Stormont Vail HealthCare welcomes Sarah Sartain, M.D., to the Cotton O’Neil medical staff. Dr. Sartain is now the 17th emergency medicine physician available to care for patients in the Emergency Department at Stormont Vail Regional Health Center.
Dr. Sartain, a native of Kansas City, received her medical degree at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, in 2009, followed by a residency in emergency medicine, at University of Missouri, Kansas City, in 2012. During her final year of residency, Dr. Sartain was the chief resident of her class.
She is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Emergency Medicine Residents' Association.
Mehmood Hussain Hashmi, M.D., Hematologist/Oncologist, Joins Cotton O’Neil Cancer Center

(Topeka, Kan., Aug. 2, 2012) - Stormont Vail Health and Cotton O’Neil Clinic announce that hematologist/oncologist Mehmood Hussain Hashmi, M.D., has joined the Cotton O’Neil Cancer Center, 1414 S.W. 8th Ave, Topeka. Originally from Pakistan, Dr. Hashmi has most recently practiced as an Oncology Hospitalist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.
Dr. Hashmi received his medical degree at Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan, in 1997. He trained in general medicine and surgery at Dow Medical College, from 1997 through 1998. In 1999, he completed training in internal medicine and related specialties, including renal medicine and transplantation medicine at Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation in Karachi, Pakistan. Upon his relocation to the United States, Dr. Hashmi completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, in 2004. He practiced as a hospitalist at the Eastern Kansas VA Health Care System, Topeka, from 2004 to 2008. He then pursued a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, which he completed in June 2012. He has completed sub-fellowships in breast oncology and clinical-transitional research at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Dr. Hashmi is Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and an associate member of the American Society of Hematology. He has clinical interests in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer related to the prostate, breast, lung, kidneys, bladder, testes, head and neck, as well as myeloma and lymphoma.
He is currently accepting new patient consultations through physician referral.
