Additional Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician Joins Cotton-O'Neil Clinic

(Topeka, Kan., Sept. 26, 2012) - Stormont-Vail HealthCare and Cotton-O'Neil Clinic announce the addition of Salah Najm, M.D., pulmonary, sleep and critical care specialist, to the clinic. He joins a team of five pulmonary specialists, including: Vlad Dimitriu, M.D., Ali Kanchwala, M.D., Shawn Magee, M.D., Osman Malik, M.D., and Theo Ogungbamigbe, M.D., in practice at Cotton-O'Neil Clinic, 823 S.W. Mulvane St., Suite 380, in Topeka.
Dr. Najm received his medical degree at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, in 2005, followed by an internship in internal medicine, in 2006. Upon his relocation to the United States, Dr. Najm completed an internship and residency, each two-year programs, in internal medicine at Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind., in 2009. He went on to complete a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at University Hospitals, Case Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio, in 2012. He is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Thoracic Society. He fluently speaks and writes in English, French and Arabic.
As a pulmonologist, Dr. Najm diagnoses and manages all disorders of the lung and pulmonary circulatory system, including acute and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchitis, dyspnea, emphysema, interstitial lung disease, pneumonia and critical care medicine. He has a specific clinical interest in pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Najm will also be a member of the Stormont-Vail Intensivist Program and will make daily rounds in the intensive care unit to care for hospitalized patients with critical respiratory illnesses.
