About the Stormont Vail Foundation

The Stormont Vail Foundation was formed in 1984 to support Stormont Vail Health’s work to improve the health of our community. The Foundation raises money through private donations, planned giving, grants, and fundraising events.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Foundation offers emergency patient assistance, funds scholarships in healthcare fields, grants for employee continuing education, and supports department and capital needs through program support, facility enhancements, and equipment purchases.

A Day in the Life is an immersive experience that gives donors and community leaders a behind‑the‑scenes look at how charitable support strengthens care at Stormont Vail.

During a guided visit to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, guests explore key clinical and operational areas, including the Stormont Vail Health Simulation Lab, operating rooms, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Laboratory, emergency and trauma services, and helipad. Participants also hear from health system leaders about how innovation, strategy, and stewardship support patient care.

The experience highlights the teamwork, expertise, and commitment of Stormont Vail team members and shows how donor generosity helps make their work possible.

Proud Children’s Miracle Network Partner

Stormont Vail Health is proud to be one of 170 member hospitals of the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). Every dollar raised for CMN stays local, meaning that funds directly benefit children at Stormont Vail. CMN at Stormont Vail supports a variety of funding needs that are crucial in our pediatric departments, including our Child Life program, upgrades to pediatric equipment, and programs that support healthy breastfeeding initiatives.

26th Annual BIG HEARTS Golf Tournament

Save the Date: Sept. 21, 2026 | Topeka Country Club

The Stormont Vail Foundation’s signature fundraising event, the BIG HEARTS Golf Tournament, raises critical support for Stormont Vail Health programs and services. Since 2001, this annual charity golf tournament in Topeka has raised more than $3.4 million, thanks to generous community support.

The tournament will take place on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, at the Topeka Country Club. Funds raised will benefit the relocation and expansion of Stormont Vail Health’s Breast Imaging Center, helping improve access to lifesaving mammography services. Construction is anticipated to begin in late 2026.
