Stormont Vail Health has a mission of “Working together to improve the health of our community.”
That includes working together with other community and health-related organizations, educational institutions, and more.
Mayo Clinic Care Network
The Mayo Clinic Care Network is a select group of independent health systems carefully vetted by Mayo Clinic that are granted special access to Mayo’s knowledge, expertise, and resources. As part of the network, Stormont Vail Health doctors can quickly access Mayo’s latest research, treatment, and diagnostic resources whenever they feel it will benefit their patients.
Our collaboration with Mayo Clinic gives us the ability to work with like-minded organizations across the globe to achieve our goal of improving the outcomes and delivery of health care.
In 2019, Stormont Vail Health affiliated with Children’s Mercy Kansas City to provide a pediatric cardiologist at the Cotton O’Neil Heart Center. This was the start of the collaboration to provide advanced pediatric services to the community.
Stormont Vail Health has spent years investing in pediatric specialty services in the area through our Pediatric Intensive Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Oncology, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Endocrinology and more. The collaboration of the two systems allows us to build upon those services and include on-site and telemedicine services from Children’s Mercy specialists to give patients the highest level of care, closer to home.
Children’s Mercy has been serving patients in Kansas and Missouri for more than 100 years. US News & World Report has named them one of the best children’s hospitals in America, ranking in all 10 pediatric specialties for five consecutive years.
Children’s Miracle Network
Children’s Miracle Network works with more than 170 hospitals and foundations to improve the lives of sick and injured children. Since 1983, the organization has raised more than $5 billion across the United States and Canada.
Stormont Vail has the region’s only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care, a neonatal transport team, the Stormont Vail Breastfeeding Clinic, a Neonatal Intensive Care follow-up clinic, Pediatrics department, pediatric intensive care, pediatric psychiatric services and Safe Kids Coalition.
Children’s Miracle Network at Stormont Vail provides funds for the purchase of pediatric life-saving equipment, invests in critical community health education and provides financial relief to countless families with children facing serious health issues.
