Topeka Campus Hospital Location

The Topeka Campus Hospital is easily accessible from west- and eastbound Interstate 70. Enter the hospital through the main entrance via the North Tower, across from the North Tower Parking Garage on the southwest corner of 9th and Horne Streets.

Parking

Free parking is available in the North Tower Parking Garage at the southwest corner of 9th and Horne Streets.

Valet Services

Complementary valet services are available at the main hospital entrance Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Guest experience team members can assist with wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, parking, and similar needs.

Patient Guideline Overview

Patients arriving at the Topeka Campus Hospital must complete a basic screening, which includes a high-risk Q&A and temperature check.

Patients experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or respiratory illness will be asked to wear masks.

Visitors must accompany patients to the exam room or wait in the car during the patient’s appointment.

Topeka Campus Hospital Visitor Guidelines

Our enhanced safety guidelines ensure the safety of everyone who enters our doors. Policies and procedures may differ depending on each patient’s situation and needs, the department or floor you visit, and the care setting. Your loved one’s care team can provide clarification as needed.

Checking In

Individuals visiting the Topeka Campus Hospital and Emergency Department must check in at arrival. Valid photo identification, such as a driver’s license, is required.

Visitors at the Topeka Campus must check in at the front desk, located inside the lobby on the first floor. Emergency Department visitors must check in at the ED entrance, located on the north side of the first floor of the hospital.

If photo ID isn’t available, we will take a photo and collect the necessary information to complete the check-in process.

Visiting Hours

Please note: Many departments in the hospital have specific visiting hours and guidelines, so contact your patient care team for details.

  • General visiting hours at the Topeka Campus Hospital are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Patients receiving treatment for COVID-19 are limited to two visitors per day between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
  • Visitors of patients in the ICU must be age 16 or older.

Mask Policy (Updated March 1, 2023)

Due to reduced COVID-19 transmission rates in the region, Stormont Vail Health no longer requires masks, except for:

  • Visitors of COVID-19-positive patients or those deemed a patient under investigation
  • Visitors who enter a room designated as an isolation unit
  • Visitors experiencing respiratory or COVID-19-like symptoms

COVID-19 Visitation Guidelines

Patients receiving treatment for COVID-19 are limited to two visitors per day between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

The Patient Care Team will provide information for visitors to ensure awareness of risk, PPE needs, hand hygiene, and limit travel throughout the hospital after leaving the patient’s room.

Several hotels in Topeka offer discounted rates for Stormont Vail Health patients and families.

Ronald McDonald House

Available for families outside of Topeka city limits

Ronald McDonald House provides accommodations for families who:

  • Live outside the city limits of Topeka
  • Have a child receiving active in-patient or active outpatient treatment at a local Topeka hospital, clinic or specialist
  • Have a child under the age of 21 years

They also provide accommodations for adoptions and high-risk pregnancy patients that need to be close to a medical facility.

Private rooms accommodate up to three people. A $10 key deposit is required and will be refunded upon checkout. The Ronald McDonald House features free laundry facilities and a stocked kitchen.
