About
Hi, I’m Dr. Bondurant, Family Practice down in Carbondale, Kansas.
How did you become interested in family practice?
Being able to take care of kids, along with grandparents, along with mom and dad was something that really drew me to family practice.
Why did you choose to work at Stormont Vail Health?
When I was looking at places to practice, I wanted to be back closer to home where I grew up (in Lawrence). Was able to look at and talk with several people that were part of the Stormont organization. Even though it’s a relatively big organization, it still felt like there’s a decent family atmosphere and a lot of good relationships between specialties. And the primary care doctors — even in rural clinics — felt like they were relatively watched after and always had resources available to them, and so it made it a pretty easy decision to come here.
Why should a patient see a primary care provider?
It’s good to kind of have that primary care person who knows a lot about you and what’s going on with your medical care. I’m kind of a gatekeeper watching over everything that’s going on with you. You can have your cardiologist looking after your heart and your pulmonologist looking at your lungs, but I feel it’s my duty to make sure that everybody’s kind of working cohesively to improve your health.
