COVID-19 Incidence Rate High
The majority of counties across Kansas, including all of the counties in the Stormont Vail Health service area, are at the high incidence rate for COVID-19, according to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s latest report. High incidence is defined as over 100 cases per 100,000 population.

This is a pattern that has been steadily increasing over the past several weeks.

The recommendation from Dr. Clif Jones, infectious disease specialist, to protect yourself is to:

  • Get vaccinated for COVID-19 and get appropriate boosters.
  • Avoid mass gatherings.
  • Mask up when in indoor spaces.
  • Use common sense.

COVID-19 vaccines are available through the Stormont Vail Pharmacy for ages 5 through adult. Pfizer vaccine is offered. To get an appointment at the Stormont Vail Pharmacy, 2252 S.W. 10th Ave., call (785) 270-4786 or schedule online through the scheduling assistant.

The Cotton O’Neil Pediatric Clinic, 4100 S.W. 15th Ave., offers a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for current patients: Pfizer vaccinations for patients 5- to 11-years-old are given on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, and Moderna vaccinations for patients ages 6 months to 4-years-old are available Thursday afternoons. To schedule an appointment at the Pediatrics clinic, call (785) 270-0675.
