A Celebration of Life

Death is not the end, death can never be the end.
Death is the road. Life is the traveler. The Soul is the Guide.
– Sri Chinmoy

April is National Donate Life Month and we at Stormont Vail Health want to take a moment to celebrate the heroes who refused to let death be the end. The brave men, women and children who have saved lives by becoming organ, eye, tissue, marrow and blood donors. We want to honor the families and friends of donors who have supported their loved one’s decision to donate.

Please take a moment to watch this video commemorating organ donors right here at Stormont Vail:

Despite the extraordinary challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 saw organ transplants from deceased donors set an annual record for the 10th consecutive year. However, need is ever present.

At any moment, there are more than 100,000 people waiting for lifesaving organ transplants. Unfortunately, approximately 20 of them die each day because the organ they need is not donated in time. You can make a difference by following the example of the more than 12,500 deceased donors in 2020. Visit DonateLife.net and sign up to be an organ donor.
