Congratulations to Clayton Wood, November Person of the Moment

Dr. Clayton Wood went above and beyond to assist one of the small, rural hospitals in our region; to get a patient the best available care, when SVH didn’t have the resources to bring the patient here. Often times, we get calls on the transfer line where outside facilities have limited capabilities and resources and our physicians on the transfer line have to think on their toes and be ready to answer anything. On this particular call, the patient had a time critical diagnosis that Stormont Vail did not have the capability to treat. Dr Wood gave specific instructions to the referring provider to treat the patient, while he utilized our transfer team to try to get this patient to a higher level of care. He had Health Connections connect him with KU and initiated the transfer process there, which isn’t something that is typically done. Thank you, Dr Wood, for looking out for this patient so that they were able to have the opportunity for the best possible outcome.
