If you are a patient at the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka and would like a visit from the Paw Squad, let your nurse know. They will first check with your attending physician for authorization. If you get the clear, the nurse will call the Paw Squad team to see who needs some belly rubs!

The Therapy Animal Program provides a comprehensive registration process that evaluates a prospective therapy animal team for volunteer work. To become a volunteer at Stormont Vail Health, you will need to submit an application, meet with a team member for an interview, as well as pass a background check and health assessment. Our team will lead you through an orientation to teach you all about our culture and all that is Stormont Vail and then you will be ready to start volunteering with us.
