March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Excluding skin cancers, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States. Fortunately, colorectal cancer is highly treatable when caught early.

Due to an increase in number of colon cancer related deaths of people under age 55, the American Cancer Society has released new guidelines for screening colonoscopies. It is now recommended that colorectal cancer screenings begin at age 45. Learn more about colorectal cancer and colonoscopies by Colorectal Cancer page.
