Pediatric Weight Management Physician Karli Alderson, M.D., Returns to Stormont Vail Health

Stormont Vail Health is pleased to introduce Dr. Karli Alderson, a Pediatric Weight Management physician. Dr. Alderson, a board-certified Family Medicine physician, brings more than five years of specialized expertise managing weight-related conditions to Stormont Vail Pediatrics-Gage, 4100 S.W. 15th St. Topeka, 66604.

In family medicine, Dr. Alderson saw the link between patients’ health and childhood food habits. She found that building positive habits and relationships with food from an early age set the stage for lifelong health.

“My goal is to create a warm environment where children and their parents feel comfortable addressing concerns with body size,” Dr. Alderson said. “It’s important to create a comprehensive plan that’s more than just eating less and moving more, because we know it’s so much more complicated than that.”

Dr. Alderson knows that accessing these resources can be challenging for many families, so she works to make seeing her as convenient as possible.

“We need something local and easy to get to, especially if you’re taking kids out of school. My goal is to be easier to get into and really understand and listen to the kids and the parents; to empathize with the struggles they’re going through.”

Dr. Alderson is accepting new patients. Call (785) 270-0056 to schedule an appointment.
