What is Arrhythmia Care?
Arrhythmia care means diagnosing and treating irregular heartbeats, whether too fast, slow, or inconsistent. Treatments may include:
- Lifestyle changes: Reducing alcohol and caffeine intake, improving sleep habits
- Medications: Antiarrhythmics to control rhythm, blood thinners to prevent clots
- Procedures: Electrical cardioversion or catheter ablation to restore normal rhythm
- Implantable devices: Pacemakers or ICDs to help regulate heartbeat
Our goal: Help you achieve a healthy heart rhythm and lower the risk of fainting, stroke, or other complications.
What is AFib (Atrial Fibrillation)?
- A type of arrhythmia where the heart beats irregularly and often faster than normal
- Can increase the risk for stroke, heart failure, and other serious health problems
- Usually not life-threatening, but still important to take it seriously
- Sometimes it requires emergency treatment to prevent complications
Types of AFib
- Occasional (paroxysmal): Symptoms come and go, lasting minutes to a week
- Persistent: Heart rhythm needs treatment to return to normal
- Long-standing persistent: Continuous, lasting over 12 months
- Permanent: Rhythm can’t be restored; ongoing medication is needed
Know the Signs of AFib
- Chest pain
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Fatigue or weakness
- Palpitations
- Reduced ability to exercise
- Shortness of breath
