Stormont Vail Health Earns PTAP Accreditation for Nurse Residency Program

Stormont Vail Health is proud to announce that it has officially received accreditation from the Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP), administered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The announcement was made Friday during a virtual call.

This prestigious accreditation recognizes Stormont Vail’s Nurse Residency Program as a national leader in supporting nurses as they transition into practice. Stormont Vail joins more than 300 accredited organizations globally, underscoring its commitment to nursing excellence and workforce development.

PTAP accreditation sets the global standard for nurse residency and fellowship programs. It validates that Stormont Vail’s program meets rigorous, evidence-based criteria in areas such as curriculum design, leadership, quality outcomes, and practice-based learning. For new graduate nurses, this means a smoother, more supported transition into clinical practice, improved job satisfaction, and enhanced patient care outcomes.

“As a four-time Magnet® organization, we demonstrate that we are the best place to work. Now, we’re the best place to train and we can show nurses we’re the best place to build a career,” said Amy Kincade, Stormont Vail Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer.
