Residents of Osage City and surrounding communities once again have access to X-ray services close to home following the completion of a renovation project at the Stormont Vail Health Osage City Clinic. The last time these services were available at the clinic was in 2022.

The clinic’s newly remodeled imaging department features new X-ray equipment, helping patients receive timely diagnostic imaging without leaving the community. The project was made possible through a collaborative effort involving local leaders, the Stormont Vail Foundation, and the Walter S. & Evan C. Jones Testamentary Trust, which provided funding for the equipment and renovations.

“Healthcare access is a critical issue for rural communities, and having services available close to home can make a meaningful difference for patients and families,” said Amy Burns, director and president of the Stormont Vail Foundation. “The return of X-ray services in Osage City means residents can receive an important diagnostic service in their own community, reducing travel and helping connect patients to care more quickly. This project demonstrates what can happen when community leaders, healthcare organizations, and generous philanthropic partners come together to address a local need.”

For many rural residents, access to diagnostic imaging can be an important factor in receiving timely care. The addition of X-ray services allows patients to work more closely with their care team and receive needed imaging in a familiar, convenient setting.

“Bringing X-ray services back to Osage City is a meaningful investment to the health and well-being of our community. Access to this essential service means less travel, less time away from work and family, and fewer barriers for our residents—especially our seniors, families, and those who may have difficulty traveling outside of our community,” said Katie Hodge, city manager for Osage City. “We greatly appreciate Stormont Vail’s continued commitment to Osage City and its recognition that accessible healthcare is an important part of a strong and thriving community. We are excited to welcoming the return of this service and the benefits it will provide to our residents for years to come.”

Stormont Vail recently welcomed representatives from the Walter S. & Evan C. Jones Testamentary Trust, Osage City officials, and other partners to tour the newly renovated space and recognize the collaboration that helped bring the project to life.

The Osage City Clinic provides primary care and other healthcare services for residents throughout Osage County and neighboring communities, seeing nearly 17,000 patient visits each year.
