We Celebrate DAISY Award Winner Courtney Blum, BSN, RN

Each day, nurses at the Stormont Vail Hospital Emergency Department in Topeka, like Courtney Blum, BSN, RN, demonstrate remarkable dedication by going above and beyond to ensure that patients and their families receive exceptional care. Not only does Courtney prioritize her patients’ well-being, but she also shares endless compassion with their loved ones. For this reason, we celebrate Courtney for receiving the DAISY Award!

The DAISY Award celebrates and recognizes nurses who go the extra mile as a way to thank them for the care and compassion they provide. Courtney, who has provided exceptional care to patients and families at Stormont Vail since 2021, received a nomination from a patient’s mother she cared for twice in the Emergency Department.

“She was so compassionate, and we could really tell she loved what she did and did her job well,” the patient’s mother wrote in Courtney’s nomination. “As former ED nurses, my husband and I couldn’t have asked for a better nurse for our girl.”

Courtney, congratulations on winning the DAISY Award! Your unwavering presence in critical moments brings patients and their families immense relief. Your dedication, knowledge, and compassion truly make a difference!
