Play Ball! Stormont Vail Day at the K This Sunday

More than 1,700 Stormont Vail Health team members and their families and friends will be heading to the ballfield this Sunday for “Stormont Vail Day at the K.” The fun activity generated tremendous interest, with Stormont Vail discounting $10 off each ticket purchased during a special ticket offer earlier this summer.

We hope this is a fun opportunity for our team, family and friends to have time together outside of work. Tailgating is also encouraged to support comradery and fun. The Royals have reserved Lot “N” just for Stormont Vail vehicles.

Four team members (and one guest) have been selected to participate in “Group of the Game” for the pre-game field presentation alongside Dr. Rob Kenagy. These team members will be featured on the Crown Vision screen! The Cleveland Guardians will be playing the Kansas City Royals Sunday, with a game time of 1:10 p.m. It is Bobblehead Day as well as Kids 14 and under run the bases day.

Video Shares Story about Importance of Organ Donation

The story of a family who tragically lost their daughter, Sydney Prine, in a 2022 accident, is shared in a video that was previewed recently during the Stormont Vail Health Celebration of Life event. The video was created by Ryan Bishop, Stormont Vail video production specialist, and tells how the Prine family worked through their grief knowing that Sydney had made the decision to be an organ donor and those donations continue to make a difference in the lives of others. The video will be shared through Stormont Vail’s social media pages and on its website, stormontvail.org.

Stormont Vail Sponsor of Shrine Bowl in Emporia

Stormont Vail Health is a sponsor of the 51st Kansas Shrine Bowl, which will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Welch Stadium at Emporia State University, 15th Ave. and Wooster Drive. The Kansas Shrine Bowl is an all-star high school senior, East vs. West, football game put on each year in Kansas by the Shrine Bowl of Kansas, Inc. The non-profit charity does annual events and activities to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children. In addition to the game, there will be a parade from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday that begins at  12th and Commercial and ends at 4th and Commercial in Downtown Emporia.

“To Your Health” on WIBW-TV Tonight – Safe Sleep

Understanding the best Safe Sleep practices is important for new parents, according to Rachel Ault, Nurse Manager, Pediatrics. Rachel will share on tonight’s WIBW-TV “To Your Health” segment that even though there may be pressure to set up a trendy nursery for the new baby, some of the features parents view in a TikTok video or Pinterest may not be conducive to safe sleep practices. Instead, Rachel stresses that parents talk to their physicians or care team for guidance and answers to questions they may have. The segment will air at 10 p.m. on WIBW-TV, Channel 13. The segment will typically repeat at 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Fridays on 13 News This Morning and be posted on wibw.com.
