Creating Comfort Through Art and Care

Thanks to the generosity of the Stormont Vail Foundation, the Inpatient Behavioral Health Child and Adolescent Unit has received new rocking chairs that bring warmth and comfort to the kids’ milieu area. Complementing this gift is a vibrant, freestyle mural painted by art therapist and team lead Jamie Kelly—created on her own time as a heartfelt contribution to the healing environment. Together, these thoughtful additions help foster a safe, creative, and nurturing space for young patients on their journey to wellness.

2025 Stormont Vail Health Trauma and Critical Care Symposium – Register Now

Join us on Thursday, Oct. 30 for the 2025 Stormont Vail Health Trauma and Critical Care Symposium at Stormont Vail Hospital and Zoom.

This year’s event is a powerful opportunity to explore the full continuum of trauma care—from field triage and resuscitation to ICU care and rehabilitation, plus a compelling real-life case study from the Joplin tornado.

Security Benefit Donates 250 Dignity Bags to Stormont Vail Patients Through SB Cares Day

As part of SB Cares Day—Security Benefit’s annual employee volunteer initiative—250 Dignity Bags were donated to Stormont Vail Health to support patients in need.

Each bag contains essential comfort items for individuals receiving behavioral healthcare. The bags will be distributed through Stormont Vail’s Mobile Clinic and Emergency Department, offering support to patients during some of life’s most difficult moments. This generous contribution reflects a shared commitment to compassion, community, and care. We’re deeply grateful to Security Benefit for their partnership and continued dedication to making a meaningful difference.

This Friday, Sept. 19 at 9 a.m., our President and CEO, Mark Slyter will be joining Mike Matson on Within Reason with Mike Matson. As a main sponsor of the show, Stormont Vail Health is proud to spotlight the work, voices, and stories shaping our region’s health landscape.

Expect insights into his journey back to Kansas, the vision driving our current initiatives, and how we’re working to make a meaningful impact for the patients and families we serve. Tune in live on KMAN radio at 1350 AM, 93.3 FM, or 93.7 FM – or stream online here. You can also listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, or Audible.
