Adult ADHD Day of Dialogue & Discovery a Success

On October 21, 2025, Stormont Vail Health’s Manhattan Campus and Kansas State University hosted an all-day event in partnership with Mayo Clinic: Adult ADHD Day of Dialogue and Discovery. This event brought together experts and advocates to advance understanding and care for adults with ADHD.

The event included a clinical and research roundtable discussion and lunch, talks from K-State’s First Lady Sally Linton (ADHD & Executive Function Coach), Dr. Kristen Vickers (Psychologist, Mayo Clinic), and Dr. Abby Callis (Psychologist, Stormont Vail Health), and a closing reflections session. Healthcare providers, staff, faculty, and students discussed neurodiversity and patient care improvements, teaching strategies, and shared resources within Manhattan and beyond. Thank you to all of those who attended!

If you missed Chris Guhr, APRN, Weight Management at the Manhattan Campus, joining Mike Matson on Within Reason with Mike Matson last week, you can catch her full interview here. Chris shared insights into why losing weight is more than diet and exercise.

As a main sponsor of the show, Stormont Vail Health is proud to spotlight the work, voices, and stories, shaping our region’s health landscape. Tune in live on KMAN radio at 1350 AM, 93.3 FM, or 93.7 FM – or stream online here. You can also listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, or Audible.

Volunteers Needed for the TCALC Phlebotomy Program

Stormont Vail Health and the Topeka Center for Advanced Learning and Careers (TCALC) partnered to provide a Phlebotomy Healthcare Pathway for high school students in our community. Students receive more than 120 hours of classroom education, simulation training, and hands-on practice to earn their American Medical Technologists Registered Phlebotomy Technician Certification.

To complete the program, each student needs to perform 50 successful venipunctures on real people. We are seeking volunteers who would allow a student phlebotomist to practice venipunctures under direct instructor supervision. Volunteers must be 18 years old or older.

Volunteers are needed Oct. 29 and 30 from 8 to 11 a.m. and 12 to 3 p.m. in the Stormont Vail Health Topeka Hospital, Pozez Computer Lab. This is a walk-in volunteer drive, with no appointment required.“To Your Health” on WIBW-TV this Thursday

Dr. Alec Britt and his patient Grace Clinton discuss her fight against breast cancer on Thursday’s “To Your Health” segment that airs at 10 p.m. on WIBW-TV, Channel 13. The segment typically repeats at 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Fridays on 13 News This Morning and is posted on wibw.com.
