Carrie Easley Represents Stormont Vail at Governor’s Blood Drive Press Conference

Carrie Easley, Laboratory Manager (pictured far right), joined state leaders for the Governor’s Blood Drive press conference. Easley highlighted the critical role blood donations play in patient care, noting that every unit represents life-saving coordination for emergencies and ongoing treatments. “Stormont Vail and other hospitals rely on the generosity of donors to provide support for those battling life-threatening conditions,” Easley emphasized, encouraging all eligible individuals to donate and help maintain a stable blood supply for Kansas communities.

Sarah Evans-Simpson, Forensic Nurse Supervisor at Stormont Vail Health, recently participated in a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) training video produced by the Air National Guard. The video is designed to educate service members on sexual assault response protocols and victim support resources. This collaboration underscores Stormont Vail’s commitment to advocacy and education.

New Year’s Baby Born at Stormont Vail Health Flint Hills Campus

Stormont Vail Health Flint Hills Campus welcomed the first baby born in Geary County in 2026. Baby boy Maverick Epp was born at 9:44 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2026. Maverick weighs 6 lbs. and 13 oz. and measures 20 inches long. He was born to Ashlee and Anthony Epp. Congratulations to the Epp Family!

“To Your Health” on WIBW-TV this Thursday

Dr. Randall Schumacher with Pediatric Care will be discussing the new CDC vaccine recommendations in this Thursday’s “To Your Health” segment that airs at 10 p.m. on WIBW-TV, Channel 13. The segment typically repeats at 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Fridays on 13 News This Morning and is posted on wibw.com.
