Stormont Vail Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Julia Gaston, M.D., a board-certified OB/GYN with over 15 years of experience, to the OB/GYN team. She will practice at Stormont Vail OB/GYN-Flint Hills, 1102 St. Marys Rd., Junction City, 66441.

Dr. Gaston found her interest in medicine while volunteering at a free clinic in college. After completing her undergraduate studies, she earned her medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. A turning point came in her third year of medical school in Wichita, Kansas, when she helped deliver 32 babies in 24 hours.

“I got home, and instead of being exhausted, I was in this adrenaline rush,” Dr. Gaston said. “I had to do this every day for the rest of my life.”

As a former undergraduate teaching assistant and program educator for gifted children, Dr. Gaston knows how to communicate effectively with patients and fellow providers of all backgrounds and levels of understanding.

“I want patients to feel that their concerns have been heard,” said Dr. Gaston. “If it’s a concern to them, it’s a concern to me. While we might not address it in that first visit, it will be addressed.”
