First Baby of 2025 Born in Geary County Born at Stormont Vail Health Flint Hills Campus

Stormont Vail Health welcomed the first baby in Geary County of 2025 on Jan. 5, 2025 at 6:41 p.m. Baby boy Marquez Garcia weighs 7 lbs. and 2 oz. and measures 19 inches long. Marquez was born to Holden Hopkins and Angelica Marquez Garcia. 

Stormont Vail’s Birthplace offers compassionate, high-quality care for expectant mothers. The nurses and staff have specialized training in labor and delivery to ensure mothers have a healthy and safe delivery. Stormont Vail has the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the region located in Topeka. The NICU is equipped to provide the highest level of care for infants who need extra attention.
