There is absolutely nothing more humbling and motivating than knowing that we have team members who show their patients the same love, kindness, and fun that they show their friends and family.

Our June 2022 Person of the Moment Award was received by 4 individuals this month for their unmatched dedication and support. Spine Center Charge Nurses Katie Schreiner, Erica Hughes, Julie Parnell, and James Sellers Jr. did more than provide care – they went out of their way to provide safety, support, and happiness as well.

A team member from the Spine Center wrote, “They never cease to amaze me in the love that they show their patients. One in particular was admitted with a brain injury. The Spine Center Charge Nurses made sure each day that they would touch base with him, even including him in their food days or celebrations. Throughout his 99 day stay, he started to need new clothes as he did not like the hospital gowns. The CN, Katie Schreiner, went out and bought him new clothes so that he could be comfortable. On the last day, the CN Erica, decided to throw this patient a party dedicated to him! Tears were shed when they sent the patient to his next location. Many small moments were shared between this patient and team!”

Stormont Vail Health is inspired knowing that we are giving these types of experiences to our patients. We couldn’t do it without team members who truly love their jobs. Congratulations Katie, Erica, Julie, and James! We are so glad to have you on our team!
