Stormont Vail Health, Sarah Ahlstedt Honored by Delta Phi/Rho Eta Chapters

Stormont Vail Health was recognized as a community leader at Delta Phi/Rho Eta Chapters, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., annual Achievement Week Recognition Dinner this past Saturday. Sarah Ahlstedt, Executive Assistant and Board of Directors Liaison, was recognized as Citizen of the Year at the event at Bradbury Thompson Center at Washburn University.

Sarah was recognized for her professional and community contributions, which include being vice chair of the Hayden Catholic School Foundation Board, member of the Capitol Cotillion Board which helps prepare students to navigate the various aspects of their lives with respect, empathy and confidence, member of the Jayhawk Council 2024 Distinguished Citizen Dinner Planning Committee, and a leader for BSA Troop 46 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Congratulations, Sarah!

Two Stormont Vail Team Members Honored at “20 Under 40”

Congratulations to Emersen Frazier Freeman, Director of Health Equity and Policy, and Thaina Dos Santos Jensen, Acute Care RN, who were recognized as 2024 20 Under 40 honorees last week. The annual 20 Under 40 Awards are presented each year by Jayhawk Area Council, Scouting America. This year was the 15th anniversary of the event.

The 20 Under 40 award honors members of the Topeka and Shawnee County community for their commitment and contributions both professionally and personally. There were more than 200 nominations and 100 applications this year.

Warm and Thankful: Donate Healthy Foods and Enjoy the Celebration

Our Warm and Thankful Celebration, hosted by the Stormont Vail Health Cultural Ambassadors, is collecting healthy food donations for the Topeka Rescue Mission (TRM). Donations may be placed in the big gift box in the Topeka hospital’s Main Entrance and at clinic locations.

All team members and families are invited to our yearly tradition of illuminating the Topeka hospital’s holiday lights and presenting donations to the TRM. We’ll also have cookies and cocoa, a holiday music sing-along led by Building Blocks Childcare students, and a special visit by members of the Paw Squad. 

  • When: Tuesday, Nov. 26
  • Time: 5 p.m.
  • Where: Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Main Entrance Lobby

Stormont Vail Health Announces Holiday Hours for Primary and Express Care Clinics

In preparation for the upcoming holiday season, Stormont Vail Health is notifying community members about special hours of operation for all of its Primary Care and Express Care clinics. Patients are encouraged to plan ahead for prescription refills and any necessary appointments. For questions, call Stormont Vail’s Health Connections team at (785) 354-5225.

Holiday Hours of Operation:

  • Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 28): All Primary Care and Express Care clinics will close.
  • Black Friday (Friday, Nov. 29): Express Care clinics will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Monday, Dec. 2: Regular hours for all clinics resume.

The Emergency Department will remain open 24/7 to provide critical care for any urgent health concerns that may arise. Stormont Vail wishes everyone a happy and healthy season.
