The Manhattan Campus features an advanced 128-slice CT scanner. This state-of-the-art equipment captures more details in less time than standard scanners, leading to quicker and more accurate diagnoses.

EEGs measure the brain's electrical activity using small electrodes. Doctors often use EEGs to diagnose and monitor conditions related to abnormal brain activity, such as epilepsy, sleep disorders, and brain tumors. Patients may need an EEG if they're experiencing symptoms like seizures, unexplained periods of unconsciousness, or persistent headaches to help determine the cause and appropriate treatment.

An MRA is a noninvasive imaging technique that provides a detailed image of blood vessels to detect blockages, aneurysms, and other conditions. Patients with severe headaches, tinnitus, or limb weakness may receive an MRA scan to identify underlying vascular issues. MRA offers a safer alternative to traditional angiography by eliminating the need for dyes or radiation.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive way for healthcare providers to capture images of the organs, tissues, and skeletal system. Instead of radiation, MRIs use radio waves and magnets to produce high-resolution images of the inside of the body to diagnose various problems. MRIs are crucial for early detection and monitoring the effectiveness of ongoing treatments.

To meet the growing need for adaptable, high-quality imaging services, the Stormont Vail Imaging Center in Topeka now features the MAGNETOM Sola, the first 1.5T system with BioMatrix technology. This cutting-edge MRI provides more comfortable scans and precise results in less time than traditional scanners.

Ultrasound imaging, or sonography, utilizes high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within the body. This non-invasive method helps visualize organs, tissues, and blood flow in real time. Patients might need an ultrasound for various reasons, including diagnosing conditions related to the abdomen, heart, and blood vessels or monitoring fetal development during pregnancy.

General, vascular, and cardiac ultrasound imaging services are available at all campus locations.

Diagnostic women's imaging services include specialized examinations like mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and CT scans tailored to identify and monitor conditions specific to women's physical and reproductive health. These services are essential for screening for breast cancer, evaluating menstrual irregularities, investigating pelvic pain, and monitoring pregnancy. They play a crucial role in early detection and timely treatment. We provide 3D diagnostic mammograms in addition to the traditional 2D mammogram for breast cancer screenings.
